How Do I Arrange For Sacraments?
Baptism for infants (children birth-6 years): Arrangements may be made by contacting the Parish Office, Monday-Friday, 9 AM-3 PM. Parents must first register and attend a Baptismal Preparation Class which are held the 2nd Wednesday of odd numbered (1,3,5,7,9,11) months from 7-8 PM in the Church Hall. Once parents have attended the class they may call the Parish Office and register for their child’s Baptism. Baptism’s are held every Sunday after the 11:30AM Mass. Parents and Godparents should arrive by 12:15 PM to get situated.
First Holy Communion: Once in First Grade, all children should be enrolled in Religious Education classes. First Holy Communion is usually received in Second Grade, after two years of preparation in Religious Education classes. For more information, or to register your child for classes, please call the Office of Religious Education at 732-291.2035. For information relating directly to First Holy Communion, please call the office at 732.291.0272. Children in Mother Teresa are prepared for First Communion in Religion Class and do not need to register separately.
Confirmation: Confirmation is usually received in the beginning of 8th grade, after completing a two year Confirmation program, and having participated in Religious Education throughout a child’s school years. There are particular requirements for completing the Confirmation program including workshops, retreat and service. Please contact Ms. Kerry Harvey in the Office of Religious Education at 732-291.2035. Children in Mother Teresa are prepared for Confirmation in Religion Class and do not need to register separately.
Marriage: In the Diocese of Trenton, a full year’s preparation is required before the Sacrament of Marriage can be received. Couples must meet with a priest or deacon, complete a Pre-Cana Program, and furnish certain paperwork. Please call the Parish Office as soon as you are engaged so that we can begin to prepare for your wedding and help make it the blessed, special day that it should be.
Sacrament of the Sick: The Sacrament of the Sick is available to people who are suffering from chronic or terminal illness, going for surgery, or nearing the end of their lives. Arrangements can be made by calling the Parish Office at 732-291.0272. If you call after office hours, please wait for the emergency line. We periodically offer a Mass of Healing where the Sacrament is offered, so check the bulletin for a future Mass.
Holy Orders: If you feel as though you may have a calling to the priesthood, please call the Parish Office to speak with one of our priests to get more information, or check out our Diocesan Vocations Website at www.godiscallingyou.com. The Diocese offers periodic events for men to find out more about vocations to the priesthood.
Potential Deacons require the support of their pastor and must be accepted into the Diocesan Diaconate Program and complete it before Ordination.
